Madd Jazz is a young family trio from Miami, FL playing fresh takes of jazz, funk, and pop classics. They play either as an instrumental group or with the addition of a vocalist for larger events. 


Emily Maddox is a drummer who began performing at a young age under the mentorship of Ira Sullivan and continues her studies under the internationally-renowned drummer for Gary Sinese’s Lt. Dan Band and Pat Metheny’s original drummer, Danny Gottlieb. Emily has opened for Niki Dawson, a contestant on NBC’s “The Voice” and was featured on Univision’s “Premios Juventud” with Eiza Gonzalez and “Pee Wee” Salinas. She also performed as a solo artist during the opening ceremony of the Davis Cup Tennis Tournament, the premier international team event in tennis. Over the past few years, Emily has performed with artists such as Christian McBride and his trio, John Pizzarelli, Marcus Printup, The Brecker Brothers Reunion Band, Ed Calle, Conrad Herwig, and Alon Yavnai. In addition, she has had the privilege of being mentored by world-class drummers such as Willie Stewart, Rodolfo Zuniga, John Yarling, Ulysses Owens Jr., Tootie Heath, Alphonse Mouzan, and Duffy Jackson. 

Kevin Maddox is a Miami native who was mentored by jazz legend and multi-instrumentalist Ira Sullivan, and since then has been performing professionally both locally and regionally. He is currently the pianist for Latin Grammy-nominated artist, Manu Manzo. Kevin had the fortune to open for Jason Derulo in MTV’s Campus Invasion Tour, which later aired nationally on their major television network. Since then, he has gone on to perform at Univision’s “Premios Juventud” and at the JEN(Jazz Education Network) Convention in Atlanta, GA. Over the course of his professional career he has performed alongside many renowned artists including Jay Sean, Cris Cab, We The Kings, Chiddy Bang, Marcus Printup, Jacob Jeffries, and NBC’s The Voice contestant Niki Dawson. Additionally, he has extensive knowledge and experience with booking and performing for numerous corporate events. Some of these companies and venues include: Microsoft, United States Navy, Mayo Clinic, Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra Wine Festival, Holland & Knight Law Firm, and Jacksonville Golf Club and Hall of Fame. 

Chase Maddox is a guitarist and composer, born and raised in South Florida and influenced by its eclectic blend of Latin and jazz culture and world-class musicians. He has performed on stage with Grammy-award-winning and nominated artists including Christian McBride, Randy Brecker, Maria Schneider, Danilo Perez, and Michael Phillip Mossman, Broadway stars including Anthony Rapp, Marin Mazzie, and Jarrod Spector, and tours across the US with Billboard-featured singer-songwriter, Emily Kopp. In addition to his performances, Chase is an avid composer for live ensembles and film. His original compositions have premiered at the Great American Jazz Series in Jacksonville, Savannah Jazz Fest, Jacksonville Jazz Fest, Lakeside Jazz Fest, and Ventana al Jazz Fest. Currently, he is composing the songs for an upcoming feature film musical written by Academy-award-nominated director, Michael Paxton.
