Since forming back in 2009, the members of Sunset Love Affair have been fortunate to share the stage with Sister Hazel, Vertical Horizon, Tonic, The Dirty Heads, SOJA, Zac Brown, Blackberry Smoke, Marc Broussard, Will Hoge, Ingram Hill and many more. They have been featured on The Rock Boat XII cruise music festival, multiple Atlanta radio-sponsored concerts, Six Flags Over Georgia, and even played at Turner Field…home of the Atlanta Braves. The band also spent 2 years on the Wild Wing Cafe circuit playing in cities all over the southeast.
The band is comprised of lead vocalist Chris Reece, guitarist Matt Graff, guitarist/vocalist Ben Watts, drummer Matt Bannister, and bassist Kevin Smith. SLA began playing shows together in college towns around the southeast in 2006 under their former band name, The Red Tide Saga. In the years leading up to the formation of The Red Tide Saga the members of SLA also played in a popular West Georgia cover band called Token White.
Sunset Love Affair’s live show can consist of entirely cover songs (over 100 cover songs and growing), original music, or a mix of both. Their cover song list is anchored by the 90s Alternative Rock genre, but also features Pop, Pop-Punk, R&B, Hip Hop, and even a couple of country hits from the 80s, 90s, and today. Even though they play cover songs from many different genres, they work out the arrangements to give the songs an Alternative Rock feel. SLA’s original songs could be described as 90s Alternative mixed with current Pop-Rock.
