Stephanie Jaimes Bio
Stephanie Jaimes is a genre-bending cellist currently residing in Miami, FL. In 2017, Stephanie lived in New York City with her multi-genre Piano & Cello duo Strings Attached to work personally with the virtuosic chamber ensemble Project Trio. In December 2017, her duo participated in Project Trio’s inaugural program “The Studio”; a post-graduate classical/contemporary chamber music program held in Brooklyn. Along with her passion for performing chamber music, Stephanie is a Teaching Artist and advocate for social/emotional learning through music. In Miami, Stephanie was a Teaching Artist for El Sistema organization Miami Music Project and Greater Miami Youth Symphony, both non-profit organizations that provided music and instruments to at-risk youth. Stephanie was also part of the faculty of the Youth Orchestra of St. Luke’s as a Teaching Artist in Manhattan. Still maintaining connections with NYC, Stephanie now is back in her hometown in South Florida.
Stephanie Jaimes has performed stadiums, intimate shows, and on TV with top artists including Jennifer Lopez, Wyclef, Raul Di Blasio, il Volo, Romeo Santos, and Christian Castro. She has toured and performed with the Christmas/Rock band Tran-Siberian Orchestra, 2015-2017, playing sold out stadiums across Florida. In 2013, Stephanie toured across the US with two-time Grammy nominated singer/sogwriter Elsten Torres, opening up for legendary Soul groups The Spinners and Sly and The Family Stone. In 2016, Stephanie and jazz pianist Kevin Maddox founded their duo Strings Attached, as an outlet to create and perform original music based on Jazz, Classical, Folk, Rnb, and Hip-Hop influences. Kevin Maddox is a master melody writer and Stephanie explores extended techniques such as percussive cello, aka “chopping”. The relatively new duo has performed at such notable places as Lincoln Center Education, SoFar Sounds Miami, Clazz Music Festival in Italy, and recently with Project Trio at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC.
