artist bio:

Neutral Snap is a 5-piece rock band hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana. The band met and originally formed when Joshua Latham, J.P. Brown, and Walker Legrand all met and began a lifelong friendship at Jesuit High School in New Orleans. The group had their first performance at the St. Matthew’s Fair in 2011, and underwent a number of lineup changes throughout the years before settling on their current group, including originals members Brown (Guitar), Legrand (Guitar), and Latham (vocals), whilst adding fellow Jesuit Blue Jays Dominick Conforte (bass) and George Neyrey IV (Drums). During their first years as students at Louisiana State University, the group was gigged rarely while becoming accustomed to college life. A number of the members went on to join fraternities on campus, which they cite as being instrumental in their budding musical career.

Things began to take a turn when they were asked to fill in for a band last minute at the iconic Fred’s in Tigerland during the LSU, Mississippi State gameday of 2016. Conforte, still in high school at the time, skipped class in order to make the show. When LSU Basketballs star Shaquille O’Neal later showed up, he joined the group on stage to perform Bon Jovi’s You Give Love a Bad Name. A video of the performance later surfaced on TMZ, and they haven’t slowed down since. The group burst onto the college music scene in the spring of 2017 with their Make Live Music Great Again” tour, which was a huge success throughout the SEC. The bands played at notable venues such as The Lyric in Oxford, Mississippi and The Hangout in Gulf Shores, Alabama that spring. Upon returning home to Baton Rouge, the band switched their focus to writing their upcoming EP, despite being known as mostly a cover band.
The group returned to the road in the summer of that year as they embarked on their Stay Tuned tour to publicize their upcoming EP. Neutral Snap again made the gauntlet of SEC schools, but also began garnering attention in more prominent music cities such as Austin, Texas and Memphis, Tennessee, where they visited that summer. To close out a wildly successful summer tour, the boys returned home to perform to a sold out room at the iconic House of Blues in New Orleans.

On July 24, 2017 Just days before their performance at the House of Blues, Neutral Snap had released their debut single, Out of Formality, on Spotify and other streaming services, which was met with reasonable success. As the group began to garner more national recognition, the fall promised to be even bigger for the young rockers. They would go on to be noticed by an open for such national acts as Afroman ( Zydeco Birmingham, AL), Metrostation (The Willow – New Orleans, LA), We The Kings (Nicholls State University Thibedoux, LA), and indie pop duo Cherub (Louisiana State University Baton Rouge, LA).
Their fall tour, aptly titled the “Back To School tour, ranged from Arkansas to Virginia and everywhere in-between. Despite a tight tour schedule, the group managed to complete their highly anticipated Stay Tuned EP, set to release on all mainstream streaming services on November 9, 2017.
