Moonshine Jazz offers a retro twist on modern hits, delivering Top 40 music with a vintage aesthetic. The most popular songs of the 80’s, 90’s, and now have been rearranged by award-winning musicians to transport you into the classic sounds of 1920’s-1950’s jazz and blues.
Featuring Berklee College of Music alumni, “DC’s Queen of the Blues” Carly Harvey, multiple Wammie award winners, and lead by Blues Hall of Fame artist Jenny Langer, the band is inspired by the glamour of The Cotton Club and the fun of underground speakeasies. Moonshine Jazz is customizable to suit your event – the group can perform an exclusively vintage experience (including costuming) or mashup the evening by transitioning to Motown, Classic Rock, and more with Moonshine.
Love the band but just seeking great background jazz to set the mood of your cocktail hour, networking event, or dinner? The band offers several sizes to fit your event and venue space:
• Solo: Jazz pianist or jazz guitarist. High on class, low on volume and footprint.
• Duo or Trio: Acoustic jazz and blues with or without lovely vocals. Perfect for small parties and spaces.
• Quartet: Small jazz combo with drums. Excellent for background music, cocktail hours, and setting the ambiance.
• Quintet: Take the quartet and add a fabulous saxophonist to the group. Now we’re swingin’! Great for parties, speak-easy themed events, larger rooms, and more.
• Sextet: Less one horn and one vocalist from the grand band. Band can offer a mix of instrumental and vocal jazz and blues for a full night.
