My wife and I booked Gypsy Grass to play our welcome party as a 5-piece band, and our ceremony and cocktail hour as a trio with guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. For the welcome party, the full band played mainly bluegrass as was the plan we discussed with Cynthia ahead of time. Due to weather conditions, the band had to play indoors in a bar area as opposed to outside, but the band had no problem adjusting and getting the sound perfect for the venue - not too loud to prevent conversation, but loud enough to really enjoy and dance to if you wanted. They played Rocky Top, which we requested since the wedding was in TN, and had everyone singing along in addition to a couple other requests that were great. The rest of the bluegrass set sounded amazing and was super fun, with some really cool 90's/00's hip hop and pop covers thrown in. They could all shred on their respective instruments and they were exactly the type of "contemporary bluegrass" sound we wanted. All of the guests raved about how good they were, even those who weren't necessarily fans of bluegrass. For the ceremony, the weather held up and Gypsy Grass braved the cold (we provided a heater per the contract, but still props to them) and played a few of the wedding songs we specifically requested. They played them all perfectly, from Josefin's Waltz for the processional to the fun and upbeat celtic-style instrumental for the recessional. Again, the sound was perfect and they set the "forest wedding" vibe perfectly. Right after the ceremony, they headed back to the bar area where they played the welcome party and played the cocktail hour as a jazz trio (we loved their versatility to be able to play both bluegrass and jazz, and incredibly well at that). Again, they knocked it out of the park and provided a fun and classy soundtrack to kick off the post-ceremony festivities. All the guests were loving every second of it, and one couple we are friends with said they were likely to try to book them for their wedding in Charlotte in 2023 because they enjoyed the music so much. Not only were the members of Gypsy Grass super talented and professional, but also very down to earth, accommodating, and nice people. They played a huge part in making our wedding weekend super special and memorable and we can't recommend them highly enough - thank you all again Gypsy Grass!

If we could hire Gypsy Grass for day to day entertainment, we would. My wife and I hired Gypsy Grass for our wedding welcome party, and with Cynthia’s soulful and smooth voice as lead, they set the perfect bluegrass sound and mood to make the evening that much more memorable. Cynthia and the band wove in several of our favorite songs into a set that felt personal and poignant. It couldn’t have been more perfect. Highly, HIGHLY recommend Gypsy Grass!!

Oh my goodness! Gypsy Grass was fantastic! We were so thrilled! I highly recommend this band not only for their unbelievable talent, but for how wonderful they were to work with- playing certain artists that my son and daughter in law loved. It was a wonderful event and they made it perfect!

The band was absolutely incredible. Everyone was commenting on how amazing Gypsy Grass was. They really created the ambience we were going for at our rehearsal dinner in a barn. They were so kind and amazingly talented. They worked very well together and played beautifully. Several of my friends took their cards for future events. They made our night so special!

Gypsy Grass band was amazing! Their communication from start to to finish was on point. They even took time to learn my husband's favorite song. They played a wide variety of songs in such a unique fashion. Many of our guests told us after the wedding how cool the band was. After the night was over our guests wanted to Venmo the band more money to stay and play longer. If that’s not a compliment I don’t know what is. Everything about the process was seamless. We really enjoyed them being apart of our special day!

We have hired Gypsy Grass for a number of corporate and social events at the Grove Park Inn, and they have managed to exceed our expectations each time. Ben from Gypsy Grass was simply and absolutely amazing for our wedding! His vibe and fun loving spirit perfectly matched the intimate, vintage, and bohemian style wedding we had. This September we made the great decision of hiring Gypsy Grass to play at our wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour as well. They did two steps beyond a great job. They even took a change of plans and curve ball we threw their way without missing a note. They did two beautiful covers of songs very special to us and it was unforgettable. Gypsy Grass channels your inner dancer as they effortlessly play beautifully calculated music, perfectly in sync with the audience they perform for. Their unique and engaging sets are free-styled based on whatever you request! We have had the pleasure of having them perform at the Blue Ridge Dance Lab and our dancers rarely sat down as each song enticed them to respond to each beat. I would highly recommend them to perform at any event, big or small. We will definitely have them back on a regular basis!

We have been fortunate enough to have Gypsy Grass play at several of our nonprofit's events in 2016 and 2017, including to a crowd of 1,500 people at our largest annual fundraiser, CiderFest. While they are phenomenal musicians individually, the end result is really spectacular when they team up. Their talents complement each other so well, and their musical collaboration creates a truly special show with a unique and memorable sound.
