Bonus Round is Birmingham’s best party band! Whether it is a wedding reception, fundraiser, or corporate event, Bonus Round is well suited to entertain all ages with an eclectic variety of music and Alabama’s best musicians. 

Founded in 2004 by core members Mark Lanter (marklanter.com) and Abe Becker (Abe Becker/facebook), Bonus Round has maintained a steady schedule of club dates, wedding receptions, festivals, corporate and fundraising events throughout the Southeast. A host of Alabama’s best musicians have joined Mark and Abe performing and entertaining with Bonus Round, including Gabriel Tajeu, Matt Wiley, Allen Barlow, Chad Fisher, Gary Wheat, Kevin Cowart, Matt Casey, Will Cash, Billy Bargetzi, Arnold Montgomery, Stephen McCullough, Brent McCollough, Aaron Branson, and other local musicians, delivering the musicianship, professionalism, and experience to provide not only a memorable musical performance, but to ensure that whatever the event, Birmingham’s best party band will entertain all in attendance. Most recently is the addition of the lovely and dynamic vocalist Jackie Young, who brings the most compelling and versatile singing to be heard in central Alabama. 
Bonus Round’s unique sound and approach comes from years of collected experience from mostly full-time professional musicians who are vested in making music, many of whom have music degrees, and have extensive training in classical, jazz, in addition to years in the music industry recording and performing both nationally and abroad. Many of those musicians also teach music in local universities such as UA, UAB, UAH, as well as in High Schools, Middle Schools, and Fine Arts Schools. An eclectic song list ranges from current pop music, Hip-Hop, Motown, Soul, Classic-Rock, Disco, Country, and even Jazz Standards for background music during cocktail hours or when dinner is served; literally, something for everybody!

Bonus Round performs primarily as a seven-piece band featuring Alabama’s best horn section, but also performs up to a nine-piece adding additional horns and/or keyboards, or can scale down to a five or six-piece group, depending on a clients desires. We cater to the needs of whatever an event calls for, and adjust our song list, and even select specific musicians accordingly. Whatever the configuration, expect a range from classy background music to high-energy dance music to enhance any occasion. If you are looking for Birmingham’s best party band, you have arrived!
