Joel, from a young age, was surrounded by music. His parents placed him in piano lessons in first grade, and in later years he was able to teach himself guitar. Joel actively pursued music through his church youth group by playing piano, guitar, bass, and was even trained in live mixing and sound engineering.

Towards the end of high school, Joel began to teach himself how to DJ and produce music. He played some of his first events in 2013 at Longwood University where he earned a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing (Class of 2016). While at Longwood, Joel, with the help of two close friends, started “Cruz Productions” an entertainment business that provides live sound, lighting, and DJ services. Joel and his team have since overseen countless college, corporate, wedding, and private events.

Joel is also an accomplished concert photographer and videographer who has worked with many bands and electronic music artists from all over the world. He’s been able to shoot at some of the country’s most renowned music venues such as New York’s Webster Hall, The Hollywood Palladium, and Echostage in Washington D.C. Joel was also involved in the 2016 U.S. Vice Presidential debate as an on-site videographer.

Originally from Chesapeake, VA, Joel now lives in Arlington, VA where he stays active in the local music scene. In his free time, Joel enjoys watching movies, photography, and producing electronic music.
