The Fillmore came alive on February 29 for one of Philly’s most anticipated annual fundraisers, Cheers for CHOP. Benefiting breakthroughs in pediatric urology research and care at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), the 2020 event boasted over 700 attendees and raised over $770,0000.
ECE Philly agent, Laura Nikolich, served on the event committee. “Each year, Cheers for CHOP raises money for a different division of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. This year, the event benefited the Division of Urology. Our motto is ‘Do Good. Be Fabulous.’ Therefore, we aim to raise as much money as possible for the hospital while having a great time,” says Laura.
Entertainment provided by ECE included a live band, DJ, cabaret entertainment and party motivators.
AT THE EVENT
The event kicked off with a posh cocktail hour where elaborately costumed showgirls greeted guests at the door with flutes of champagne. DJ PiERSON spun hits while guests mingled and placed bids on first-rate silent auction items.
At 8:15 p.m., guests moved into the main concert space. Sixteen luxe cabanas filled the venue offering VIP bottle service to select event sponsors. ECE exclusive artist, Jessie’s Girls, upped the energy with an upbeat 45-minute set filling the dance floor.
Following a short program where the event co-chairs highlighted CHOP, the Division of Urology, and some of its pediatric patients, the party revved into high gear. Philly native, DJ Jazzy Jeff spun tunes as guests hit the dance floor. At 10:00 p.m., Jessie’s Girls returned to the stage for a high-energy, non-stop show that lasted until midnight. Guests remained on the dance floor until the last beat dropped.
“Jessie’s Girls always delivers a show-stopping performance. From incredible showmanship to choreography and song selection, they gave a performance like this city has never seen before.”
Laura Nikolich
The fun didn’t stop at midnight. Following the main event, VIP guests headed upstairs to a post-party presented by Post Brothers that featured DJ PiERSON.
Cheers for CHOP 2020 was a record-breaking event for the organization. Says Laura, “I’m always stunned to see how this city comes together to create something so incredible for the hospital. Cheers for CHOP 2020 reached new heights, and will be a hard year to top!”
