South of Houston Band is one of the best new contemporary bands to emerge on the Manhattan music scene. The band’s name was inspired by the band’s origins: three of New York’s star vocalists and three sought-after session players were introduced by a Soho music director/producer, and the natural alchemy that occurred led to a exciting artistic collaboration and musical partnership. The band’s country crossover “chops” and its downtown provenance led the group to call itself “South of Houston.”
