artist bio:

Solo artist Nick Faulconer brings a current set list and young energy to his performances, which combine his expressive vocals and unusually skillful guitar playing. He shot onto the music scene in 2017, with immediate demand for performances on television, at parties and events, and at live venues in Central Virginia and beyond.

Nick sings and plays pop music with a solid underpinning of blues, and he gives older R&B and rock tunes new life. His inspirations include John Mayer, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Adam Levine, Justin Timberlake, Shawn Mendes, Bruno Mars, Ray Charles, Ed Sheeran, Jason Mraz, and others.

A double threat, Nick is like getting two artists in one in multiple ways. Listeners debate whether he’s a vocalist who plays guitar or a guitarist who sings. He’s admired for his ability to play both rhythm and lead guitar in every song, resulting in a full and intricate sound that’s unusual for a solo artist.

A young entrepreneur, Nick takes pride in managing his business professionally while maintaining his creativity as a musician and songwriter.
Nick appeared live on the television show Virginia This Morning CBS 6 four times in the past year, including the debut of the show’s new studio in 2017 and their inaugural live show of 2018. He was selected to kick off International Guitar Month on WCVE’s public radio show The Electric Croude. In 2017, Nick played sixty gigs in nine months, appearing professionally at festivals, celebrations, country clubs, events, restaurants, and live music venues.

Already an award-winning songwriter, Nick has an EP of original tunes, Untested, available on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music, and all major music platforms. His song “Chamomile” was a finalist in the pop category of the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, while his song “Running with the Wind” was a finalist in the rock/alternative category.

Nick grew up busking, playing music for tips on the streets of Charlottesville, Virginia. He traces recognition of his interest in pop, R&B, and bluesy rock to a childhood visit to Sun Studios in Memphis, where he first heard an original recording of Ike Turner’s 1951 song Rocket 88, which hit #1 on the R&B charts. As a teen, Nick honed his performance and musical skills through the artist development program at Passion Academy, where he also performed with the band Nick Faulconer and The Way.
