Steve's start in the business began when he hired bands and planned events as president of the Bachelor's Club of Augusta. After a couple of years of working for a local agency, new relationships led to a job in ECE Charlotte office where Steve headed up our very successful college division for approximately 10 years. In 1996, he jumped at the opportunity to relocate his family, open the Charleston office, and become a partner at ECE. Developing the coastal region of SC, GA, and FL has been a wonderful and fulfilling challenge for Steve.

With an unmatched roster of artists, lots of hard work, and attention to detail ECE Charleston is now the top entertainment source for discerning event planners, brides, resorts, corporate events and other talent buyers in the region.

Steve helped form the "Alive After Five" concert series in Charlotte that continues today and is proud to have created Charleston's original happy-hour concert series Charleston Alive After Five on the harbor.

His favorite moments have been many great personal conversations about the business and life in general with an interesting gambit of entertainers from Tony Bennett to Jason Mraz, Junior Walker to Dave Matthews, or Edwin McCain to the Godfather of Soul himself, James Brown. Besides booking events in all parts of the country and the islands, Steve has had a blast producing hundreds of challenging shows such as Charlie Daniels on a barge on Shem Creek, a charity event with Sara Evans at an intimate nightclub in South Beach, and Outkast/50 Cent in a college gym just to name a few.

Although these are some of the unique events and entertainers Steve has worked with over the years, his favorite part of the business is what he does every day.....listening and learning what each buyer envisions, then matching the perfect entertainment for that particular event or wedding, while treating every client as though their event is his most important ever. Steve says, "The fact is, every event, big or small, is a hugely important night in the life of that buyer and it deserves the best shot of perfection possible."
